One of the biggest challenges Legal English learners face when writing is what one of my students recently referred to as “writing like a native... because they do everything the opposite way from us.” By “us,” she meant Italian lawyers and with “the opposite way” she was referring to how common law reasoning relies more heavily on induction than civil law reasoning.
