Privacy Policy

This privacy policy was written in plain English to help facilitate your comprehension. We avoided legal jargon and provided definitions where relevant. We've also provided external links where pertinent to provide you with the most information we can to help you make an informed decision before accepting the policy. We are happy to answer any questions you might have about this policy. Please contact Paula Klammer at paula@paulaklammer.com if you have questions, concerns or simply need help understanding this policy.

What type of information we collect

We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way, like by email or chat. We also collect the Internet protocol (IP) address you used to connect your computer to the Internet when using our website. We only collect your login; e-mail address; password; computer and connection information and purchase history if you are a paying customer.

We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page.

We also collect personally identifiable information (information that can be used to identify you, like your name, email, password, communications); payment details (including credit card information), comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile when you are a customer with an active profile on our website.

How we collect information

When you conduct a transaction on our website, like purchasing a course, as part of the process, we collect only the necessary information for that transaction. That information is your personal information such as your name and email address. Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated above only.

Why we collect this information

We collect this information for the following purposes:
1. To provide and operate the Services;
2. To provide our Users with ongoing customer assistance and technical support;
3. To be able to contact our Visitors and Users with general or personalized service-related notices and promotional messages;
4. To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred non-personal information, which we may use to provide and improve our respective services;
5. To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

How we store information

Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our courses, products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information.

How we communicate with you

We may contact you to notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about our company, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our Terms and Conditions, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. For these purposes we may contact you via email, telephone, text messages, and postal mail.

We are also a GDPR-compliant company. So we may also contact you for marketing purposes but only if you have opted-in to our marketing mailing lists.

How we use cookies and other tracking tools

Cookies are small pieces of data stored on a site visitor's browser. They are typically used to keep track of the settings users have selected and actions they have taken on a site.

We use cookies for important reasons, such as:
• To provide you with a great experience when you are using our website.
• To identify you when you are a registered member and provide you with the service you paid for.
• To monitor and analyze the performance, operation and effectiveness of our platform.
• To ensure our platform is secure and safe to use.

Because this company is hosted on the Wix platform, Wix places certain cookies that are categorized as essential on our website. You can find a table with the exact name, purpose, duration, and cookie classification here. You can also review Wix’s Privacy Policy here.

How we share your personal information

We may share your Personal Information with service providers and others (or otherwise allow them access to it) in the following manners and instances:

Third Party Service Providers: Our host platform, Wix, and Zoom, through which we teach our live classes, have partnered with a number of selected service providers, whose services and solutions complement, facilitate and enhance our own. These include hosting and server co-location services, communications and content delivery networks (CDNs), data and cyber security services, billing and payment processing services, domain name registrars, fraud detection and prevention services, web analytics, e-mail distribution and monitoring services, session recording and remote access services, performance measurement, data optimization and marketing services, content providers, and their legal and financial advisors (collectively, “Third Party Service Provider(s)”).

Wix, our host, may share the following categories of Personal Information with Third Party Service Providers for a business purpose:
• identifiers, including name, alias, postal address, unique personal identifier, online identifier, internet protocol address, email address, account name, or other similar identifiers.
• commercial Personal Information, for example Personal Information regarding products or services purchased, obtained, or considered.

Law Enforcement, Legal Requests and Duties: We may disclose or otherwise allow access to any categories of your Personal Information pursuant to a legal request, such as a subpoena, legal proceedings, search warrant or court order, or in compliance with applicable laws, if we have a good faith belief that the law requires us to do so, with or without notice to you.

Protecting Rights and Safety: We may share your Personal Information if we believe in good faith that this will help protect the rights, property or personal safety of Klammer Academy, any of our Users or any member of the general public, with or without notice to you.

Upon Your Further Direction: Our website enables you, through different techniques, to access live classes via Zoom when you are a paying customer. This is a “Third Party Service.” If you choose to engage with such Third Party Services, they may have access to and process Personal Information collected through our web or mobile sites. You can visit Zoom’s Privacy Policy here.

Social Media Features: We’ve integrated certain social media features into our website, such as Instagram and LinkedIn. These Social Media Features may collect certain Personal Information from you, such as identifiers, including name, alias, unique personal identifier, online identifier, internet protocol address, email address, or other similar identifiers. Social Media Features are hosted either by a third party or directly on the Wix service. Wix will share your Personal Information with Third Parties Services only upon your direction or with your permission. Neither Wix nor we control or are responsible for the actions or policies of any Third Party Service, and your use of any Third Party Service is at your own risk. We encourage you to review any privacy policy accompanying a Third Party Service and ask such Third Party Service for any clarifications you may need before deciding to authorize and/or use their services.

Security measures to protect your Personal Information

As we said above, this website is hosted on Wix. Wix has implemented security measures designed to protect the Personal Information you share with us, including physical, electronic and procedural measures. Among other things, Wix offers HTTPS secure access to most areas on their Services; the transmission of sensitive payment information (such as a credit card number) through their designated purchase forms is protected by an industry standard SSL/TLS encrypted connection; and they regularly maintain a PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) certification. They also regularly monitor their systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks, and regularly seek new ways and Third Party Services for further enhancing the security of their Services and protection of your privacy.

Regardless of the measures and efforts taken by Wix, as our host, we cannot and do not guarantee the absolute protection and security of your Personal Information or any other information you upload, publish or otherwise share with Wix through us or on our website. We encourage you to set strong passwords for your User Account and Profile, and avoid providing us or anyone with any sensitive Personal Information of which you believe its disclosure could cause you substantial or irreparable harm.

Also, because certain areas on our website are less secure than others (if you browse to a non-SSL page, for example), and since e-mail and instant messaging are not recognized as secure forms of communications, we request and encourage you not to share any Personal Information on any of these areas or via any of these methods.

We are not responsible for Third Party websites

Our Services may contain links to other websites or services, such as Zoom. We are not responsible for such websites’ or services’ privacy practices. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our Services and to read the privacy statements of each and every website and service you visit before providing your Personal Information. This Privacy Policy does not apply to such linked third party websites and services.

How to withdraw your consent

You have the right to withdraw your consent for us to process your data. If you don’t want us to process your data anymore, please contact us at paula@paulaklammer.com.

Your rights under the GDPR

You have the right to access all the personal data we have collected about you, as well as “the right to be forgotten” (i.e. the right to be permanently deleted from our databases). To exercise either or both rights, please contact us at paula@paulaklammer.com.

Privacy Policy Updates

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
